Steve Borichevsky of Shooting my Universe has provide many wonderful photos on his blog site and a few have been inspirational for me.
The following photo showing a boat in rough seas did it to me. It was posted a while ago, but the rainy day yesterday allowed me to try to capture the feel of the photo.
So here is my rendition!
I did something i am not used to, I left blank paper to try to capture the white caps and this was a difficult piece for me. It was done in water color on 10 1/2" x 15" rough cold press paper.

The blank spaces making the whitecaps looks really cool. You've inspired me. I'm going to go work on my first painting now, depicting two polar bears attacking an albino Eskimo and his igloo during a snow storm.
Grant - your painting is fabulous!
The effect is excellent and extremely well done.
Glad I wasn't out in it though. The rain we had here yesterday was more a drizzle.
Hey, this turned great!
You did an amazing job. Thanks for sharing your gifts.
Joey,
White on white is the hardest! When I viewed the enlarged image, it seemed I also saw pastel?
You did a great job, Joey, love the scary waves!
No pastel - tho I did use a bit of Acrylic for texture on the "splashes". The rest all paper and water color!
Beautiful painting! You should do it more often and share it with us, just like this one. It's relaxing to look at.
Beautiful! you are gifted.
