The beginning of the end of summer

It is the beginning of September,
it always becomes cool and you know summer is over.
The flowers still bloom, the vegetables still come,
But there is a finality it all these things.
Soon, the colors will come,
screaming their, reds and yellows and oranges.
The green will be gone and stillness will come.
But there will be an Indian summer yet!

HI JOEY -

I love that summer is ending. phew. My health condition is worse in the heat. And the colors? Oh my. I Love the shadows in our house that dance on all the surfaces in shades of dark green and slate and deep burgandy - it is all so exciting. And the stillness of Winter? I love it.

Love Gail
peace

i love autumn, what with the magical colors everywhere but yet still summer is what makes the spirit soar high up in the air!!!

the beginning of september
a reflection of summer ends
followed by october when
the cooler winds prevail
next come november
hues of gold and red and purple
nothing beats december
with carols and pure snow fill the air....

Around here, it doesn't feel like fall until late October. Thank the zombie jebus for a/c.

I love summer here in California, but am sure glad the season is over. We have fire in a couple of places around here in Southern California, makes it scary.

Yeah, it's over. I notice it getting darker outside much earlier.

I like the beginning of the end of summer. Unfortunately, around these parts summer doesn't end for quite some time.

oh, am definitely enjoying summer still :) though i love every season for every changes they bring, each unique and beautiful in their own way, but summer brings a much longer joy in the air :), i see a lot more people and family enjoying the gifts and warmth it brings, it's the gift of familial happiness that I see that abounds in summer that makes me love it the more.

September in many ways is the nicest of the summer months. The humidity is often low and the evenings are quite cool. Many beaches, parks etc become much less crowded.
