while my mood seems to jump around a bit,
the colors of autumn always lift me up.
They are not the same as New England,
but beautiful never the less,
reds, yellows and oranges and then the muted colors of each
make this spectacular!

Autumn
it snuck up on me,
yes i am not around from here,
to use that phrase.
The calendar said it would,
but i was enjoying,
the summers heat.
I was the only one,
i think.
i was not prepared,
to put my garden to sleep,
for the brisk air
and the changing colors,
tho i love autumn.
It is here now,
whether i am ready or not.
i am prepared now for the beauty that will ensue!

I often wonder about me
I ride or walk,
through the dizzying colours,
that are Fall.
I think of fiery lava flows,
225 million years ago,
(yes I believe that,
without contradiction to my faith.)
That covered this same land
and then drift.
to the icy cold glaciers,
miles deep,
only 10,000 years passed.
The to the pristine wilderness,
this must have been,
only a few short centuries ago.
Back to the present, I watch,
the rush,
the impatience,
the anger
that we seem to spew,
as we rush past the colours
and forget beauty.
What is the rush?
These colours have been in the making,
for millions of years,
I will enjoy
and rejoice
and be glad in Him.
through the dizzying colours,
that are Fall.

mixed messages
Deep in thought,
of calculations and of scheming
and of Figuring things out;
a gentle cool breeze
washes over my face
and brings me to another place.
Cool,
not cold
and so it captures my attention
and i rush to capture the moment on this typed screen.
How to explain the subtle changes,
from the working,
grasping mind
to one that flows?
I begin to feel,
not only the breeze,
but the colors of the leaves,
as they begin to turn.
The clear sky
and the sun beginning to rise.
A bee flitting past in search of the last drops of nectar,
from flowers still in bloom.
Those "things" i thought of earlier,
they still exist,
but not in the the cold hard form of equations,
but in gentle nudges of how to continue on.
The Forsythia shows the mixed message best,
the leaves beginning to turn,
yet a yellow flower of spring attached.
I do love Autumn,
for to enjoy it,
one must not think of the summer that was past,
nor of the Winter that still is yet to come.

one of my favorite times of the year
Autumn
Such a favorite of mine, but why?
The colors so vivid,
but last only a little while.
Smells of apples and pumpkins and cinnamon...
only to make way for turkey and cranberry,
at least here in the USA.
Then to peppermint and gingerbread.
Is it me or do i always talk about food
and flavors
and smells,
as if they are all there is.
Well maybe they are a big part of it.
Halloween today.
All hallows eve,
a celebration of those who have gone before,
it is a good one to celebrate!
There is a stimulation coming to paint again,
but also so much to do!
I hope thing allow me to so my heart that way again!

signs of the begining of Autumn
The Harvest moon within a bank of clouds
the Autumn Scarlet's berries turning red
Cooler temperatures are here and the Hybiscus flowers last for days

smells like fall
yes these are photos from October, but they fit today.
|
Halloween is past.
It has finally started,
the air is crisp
and clean,
but there is an odor of fall leaves.
An unmistakable smell,
that feels good.
I love Autumn,
even for its breif time,
the color,
the smwlls,
the look.
I do not like what comes after, but am content in what is now.

Oh the colors!
I got to ride through the autumn leaves the other day,
the leaves were turning
and i know why the colors of red
and orange
and yellow
and even greens
have so many hues.
The scarlet and ruby and flame and rose of the reds.
The golden and sunshine or the yellows.
The oranges with traces of burnt umber or pumpkin and gold, all were so well represented.
The only thing i dislike about this season,
is its shortness!
